The RESTART_4Danube project aims to promote creative urban rehabilitation in the Danubian countries, to develop innovative urban development models, and to promote creative-cultural industries; to create a common urban development strategy for the 12 European countries covered by the project consortium, taking into account the urban and regional specificities of each countries, supported by good practices coming from the project partners.
The project involved two organisations from Vas County in a "tandem" cooperation: the Vas County Government Office and the Pannon Business Network Association. The two organisations aimed to develop and implement a Local Action Plan strengthening the innovation potential of Vas County, supported by national and international trainings, study visits and workshops.
Important results of the project are the following:
- Development of a common strategy on the creative urban rehabilitation for the Danube Region: a strategic guideline for the further development of creative and cultural industries (CCIs) and their better integration into the urban rehabilitation processes of the Danube Region
- The Urban Green Paper aims to present concrete ideas to strengthen CCIs' activities by improving framework conditions, i.e. capacity building, renewal of physical and digital infrastructure and sites, implementation of creative business incubation opportunities, clusters and networks, emphasizing the importance of funding access.
- The aim of the "Creative Danurban Competition" was for young and talented creative minds to come up with business or project ideas that support the rehabilitation of cities in the Danube Region. The main goal of the competition was to build and nurture a tradition of knowledge exchange, so students, artists, and young creative entrepreneurs were invited to present their own project or business ideas that support urban rehabilitation, either individually or in a team.
