ThreeT
The core mission of the ThreeT project was to promote the protection and preservation of the natural and cultural heritage, by creating new thematic routes based on them or by effectively improving existing ones. The project has been focused on promoting green, environmentally friendly modes of transport and maximising the ecotourism potential of each heritage site.
A common challenge was the limited accessibility of these heritage sites, the physical barriers of sustainable transport modes, and the lack of useful information about them. To address these challenges, the project consortium shared their experiences, presented them in the context of professional study tours and visits, and jointly analysed them.
During the project lifetime, with the active participation of all partners, 8 territorial context analyses were developed, 45 good practices were collected and documented, 22 good practices were selected for tutoring sessions, 8 study visits were organised, 8 stakeholder groups were set up (with a total of more than 200 interregional participants), and finally 8 regional Action Plans were drafted and adopted by the relevant Managing Authorities.
The Action Plan of Vas County focused on developing the existing network of tourist routes operating in the county, expanding existing competences, strengthening the commitment between route providers and promoting cooperation between them. These objectives will be supported through 3 main actions in the future:
- COORDINATION: Establishing the Vas County Trails brand for all thematic routes within and crossing the county,
- EXPANSION: Network of smaller or less visible archaeological/industrial attractions and secondary side-themes to provide value added to other trails and gain own „treasure-hunt” niche,
- ENHANCEMENT: Service and attraction development of existing regional trails, focusing on local heritage and identity.
All the good practices collected can be found on the official platform of the Interreg Europe Programme: www.interregeurope.eu/policy-learning-platform
