2024. november 5-6-án Vas vármegye adott otthont a Digital Rural projekt nemzetközi tanulmányútjának és projektmegbeszélésének, mely az Interreg Europe Program támogatásával valósul meg. A projekt célja, hogy a vidéki térségek digitalizációját fejlessze, különös tekintettel a helyi termékek előállítására és az agroturizmusra. A résztvevő küldöttség – többek között Észtországból, Írországból, Görögországból és Hollandiából – megismerhette a Vasvári Helyi Termék Klaszter és az oszkói Hegypásztor Birtok digitális újításait, valamint a dróntechnológia és a családi gazdaságok digitalizációjának lehetőségeit.

Huszonnegyedik alkalommal hirdette meg Vas Megye Közgyűlése és a Vas Megyéért Egyesület az “Év vasi embere” választását, hogy elismerjék azt a személyt, aki 2021-ben a legtöbbet tette megyénkért. Pénteken a Megyeházán gyűltek össze a jelöltek és a döntést hozó tíztagú kuratórium.

Köszöntőjében Majthényi László, a Vas Megyei Közgyűlés elnöke utalt rá: lassan két éve, hogy megváltozott az életünk rendje, és más bálokkal együtt a megyebál is elmarad. Hagyományosan annak éjszakáján adják át ugyanis a díjakat. Dr. Balázsy Péter a Vas Megyéért Egyesület elnökeként kiemelte: újításként az Év embere közönségdíjasát is megválasztják. Egyre nagyobb sikernek örvend a díj: több mint tízezren szavaztak a közösségi médiában, 200 ezernél is több embert ért el a hír és közel 300 ezren értesültek a Facebookon keresztül arról, hogy keresik az év vasi emberét.

Mint mondta, meggyőződésük, hogy a 24 év, a több mint 200 jelölt annyira nívós társaság, hogy valamennyiüket be kell mutatni. Az idén 25 éves egyesület éppen ezért kiadvánnyal készül. Mielőtt ismertette a választás eredményét, úgy fogalmazott: a hazaszeretetnek, a szülőföld szeretetének sok formája van. Az egyik az, ha a saját természeti környezetét, örökségét gondozza, feltárja, ezzel őseink életmódját mutatja be a következő generációk számára.
